The world Elon Musk is trying to create goes one step closer to reality. The man has been known for making the impossible possible, and he just went a step ahead on that. Elon Musk’s company Neuralink just excelled in making a pig respond to prompts after putting a computer chip in its brain.

Neuralink records how Gertrude the pig functions after chip implant
A pig named Gertrude gave way to confirm that soon we can have chips placed in our brains. In a released video, Gertrude is rooting around the ground when it gets electric signals emitted around her. It increases her brain activity.
Gertrude eats snacks from one’s hand, while a computer screen shows blue lines going up and down. It also signals musical bleeps and bloops.
The narrator moving around the pig, explains how a brain-monitoring device was implanted in the pig’s brain. The movement of the pig keeps changing the data shown on the screen.
When touching the snout of the pig, it causes neurons to fire in the brain. The results showed in the Nueralink device as the data was collected through the chip. The best part is that the pig didn’t seem to behave any differently with an implant in its brain.
What to expect?
Elon Musk plans to implant chips in human brains is a non-invasive way. The idea is that a surgical robot will do the honors. It will have a chip that is as small as a coin with electrodes attached.
Musk said that his primary goal is to help people with diseases like Parkinson’s and make their quadriplegics function better. It will improve the lives of such patients and make them more self-reliant.
If this works, which inevitably will, human brains can access computers to summon the world of information in seconds. Moreover, this can make schools irrelevant as Google might takeover learning. The thought itself is exciting yet scary.
